Facility Overview
A dramatic two-mile private national forest road traces an undulating ridgeline and meanders down to The Sanctuary campus. To the right you see the placid waters of the Oak Creek, an unexpected sight in the high-desert landscape.
Surrounded by thousands of acres of national forest land, The Sanctuary offers a natural buffer from a busier world. Gently sloping hills on either side of The Sanctuary form a natural cradle that invites seclusion and renewal. The area is perfectly formed for the function it serves, naturally calling forth one to open to the rhythms of the land, to slow down, decompress, and reconnect to your inner nature.
The Sanctuary is an oasis nestled in the high desert. The desert has always been a sacred place for spiritual purification and cleansing in various religious and esoteric traditions. The simple stark beauty of the land, the vast open space and horizons and the bright luminosity of the Arizona sun all provide the setting for profound transformation. In the desert there is no place to hide.
As you see and experience yourself clearly for the perhaps the first time, you realize it is safe to come out from the shadows and into the light. The desert is the ideal backdrop for your healing and process.
Sedona is known for its magnificent red rock spires that reach skyward in spectacular formations. It is equally known for its powerful energy properties known as “vortexes” which are swirling centers of subtle energies near the surface of the earth. This energy affects people at a deep core level opening them to physical and emotional healing and spiritual awakening.
The Sedona area has long been known to be sacred and holy by many Native American Tribes, from the Sinagua to the Apache, Hopi and Navajo. The land is steeped in rich traditions, mythologies and mystery, dating back thousands of years. We can still feel the presence of the ancients in their petroglyphs, monuments and artifacts. The power of the land still informs us today
